2009 Social Audit Report
WEMA 2009 Social Audit Report
The WEMA 2009 Social Audit was conducted by the Ethical, Social, Cultural, and Commercialization Program* of the McLaughlin-Rotman Centre for Global Health (MRC), University of Toronto, Canada. This an annual social audit whose objective is to measure and report on the ethical, social, cultural and commercialization impacts of the Water Efficient Maize for Africa (WEMA) project as seen by a wide variety of key stakeholders. The goal is to improve accountability, transparency and management, and build trust among WEMA stakeholders, and between WEMA and the general public.
AATF’s action on the ESCC audit report 2009
Following a review of the ESCC audit report 2009, the WEMA project will incorporate the recommendations made in its future activities. This will include reviewing communication messages and information materials to address the issues of concern raised and widening the scope of stakeholder engagement.
