After a systematic, transparent and demand driven selection process, AATF works in concert with key stakeholders to ensure that the projects meet the selection criteria and fall under the specified priority problem areas.

We currently have the following projects under implementation

• Striga control in Maize
• Cowpea productivity improvement
• Protecting Bananas and Plantain from Bacterial Wilt Disease
• Water Efficient Maize for Africa (WEMA)
• Raising the productivity of rice in Africa

Under the projects there are those still under going review by the relevant stakeholders, these are refered to as product concepts. The following are the product concepts under development;

• Mycotoxins in food grains
• Improving cassava productivity on smallholder farms

Lastly AATF on various occasions carries out projects with other organisations that are outside of its priority problem areas, these are done in conjunction with other like organisations and are termed as special projects. The current special project is:

• Developing nutritionally enhanced Sorghum varieties
