Abu Joseph Umaru holds a BA in English and is currently pursuing an MA in development communications at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Before Joining AATF, he worked as head of the Nigeria Sponsorship Communications Unit of ActionAid, an international anti-poverty and rights based organisation with bias for the poor and excluded. Abu has over ten years experience in private, public and development sector communications, having worked in the communications, customer relations and marketing units of the Nigerian mobile telecommunications and also as the Relationship and Business Development Coordinator for Essential Communications, a public relations outfit based in Nigeria. Abu is Nigerian.
